Anglophone Crisis: Civilians Continue To Perish As Dialogue Delays

Image
Civilian lifes have continued to be wasted as a result of the ongoing war in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameron. Killings are gradually becoming a new normal in these two regions as a genuine dialogue which many say is the only way out seems to be refusing to happen. A day will not pass by without a soul or souls being lost because of a crisis that many believe could best be handled by talking rather than fighting and killing one another. Tuesday January 11,2022, a man by name Boh Ngoh popularly known as Pa German Trench was shot and killed by unidentified gun men at his below GTHS resident in Nkwen, Bamenda III Sub Division. He had tried to safe a woman from the hands of her abductors when the boys opened fire on him before whisking off the lady in her car. Abomination: Youths Have Taken Masturbating To The Streets

Image
Our todaytoday's generation has continued to schock the world with their misdeeds. If it is not sex parties organized by students on campuses and other unorthodox locations, it is the act of consuming marijuana by young girls and sharing videos of them on the social media. Masturbation simply means rubbing your genitals for sexual pleasure. This is what many do in hiding but these days, it is now being done in public. Though some don't see anything wrong in masturbating, others describe it as an abominable act condemned by the Holy Bible and other religious books.  Mnews.com reported Wednesday that, a youth after a failed attempt to rape a minor resorted to masturbating not in the confines of his room but in public at the Ghana Street neighborhood in Bamenda, Northwest region of Cameroon. Abandoned Bambui-Bambili Road Now A Pitfall

Image
The Bambui-Bambili road in Tubah Sub Division, North West Region of Cameroon has been described by many as a deathtrap.  This is oweing to the dusty nature of the road, a situation that has been compounded by the dry season which has made life a living hell for users of that stretch of autoroute. Questions have been asked whether those in charge are waiting for many more to die before the road can finally have a taste of a good tar after a long while. Drivers have complained how they barely see upcoming vehicles because of the dust, The road is covered by dust and this is very dangerous because it can cause serious accidents if care is not taken, says Che, a cab driver. The Situation Of The Road Linking Bambui and Bambili The death of some students of the University of Bamenda UBa last November 16, 2021 after the school's graduation ceremony were blamed on the dusty nature of the road. Must Lecturers Strike Before They Are Listened To?

Image
By Gweningom There is a school of thought that opines that in Cameroon, the only language authorities understand best is a strike action. Those with this view point may not be far from the truth as this line of thinking was exhibited Tuesday December 14,2021. Lectures laid down their tools demanding the payment of emolument(financial package in the form of compensation) in a strike action called for by the National Union of Teachers of Higher Education (SYNES-UBa)  Students on their part were loitering around after paying high transport fairs from Bamenda to Bambili and inhaling a good quantity of dust on the way. At the close of the day, a document emerged from SYNES-UBa  suspending the strike action. Strike Suspension Order The reason advanced was that they want to "provide a corridor for for the ongoing payment by all schools and facilities which started at 5:22PM Tuesday to role the end." A day lost can never be recovered. Waiting for persons to go on an industrial strike

My Visit To Mbengwi Road After The Burnings,Killings

Image
By Gweningom The news about hundreds of houses being burnt to ashes at Mbengwi Road in Bamenda and the carnage that has befallen the victims was enough reason for me to go see things for myself. I started witnessing the pain the victims of the voilent arson attacks are going through at Hospital Round About. I saw red eyes looking people with long faces all supporting their jaws with their hands. Shops burnt at Hospital Round About They sat in front of the seven shops that were burnt by men in military uniforms at Hospital Roundabout. Many other businesses around the area did not open their doors, some say it was in solidarity while others say they did not open their businesses because of fear. From Hospital Round About, the evidence was clear that Mbengwi Road was not going to be easy. The absence of the normal hustling and bustling that is typical of that vicinity was absent. It was as if they were mourning. Going towards Azeri Old Church Junction, many shops were also locked.  As i
